Barby Wunsch

Barby Wunsch – Executive Director

Started at the Youth Arts in: 2023 

Barby is a long-time resident of Templeton where she lives on a ranch with her husband, Bob, and raises alpacas. She graduated from University of Oregon in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts – Fibers. She received her Master’s degree in Education in 2003. Barby has worked in Fund Development for the past 12 years for GRID Alternatives (Oakland) and Hartnell College (Salinas) raising millions of dollars through grants and donations. Prior to entering a career in Development, Barby worked as a teacher across all grade levels in public and private school settings. Barby is currently Board President for the Templeton Education Foundation where she has been raising money for the Templeton Schools for the past 7 years. She also is the VP for the Central Coast Weavers Guild in San Luis Obispo County. Barby has 2 children, Tommy and Izzy, who are currently attending college. She also has 2 Labrador retrievers, Huckleberry and Goose, and 5 cats.

Jamie Dietze

Jamie Dietze – Programs Director

Started at the Youth Arts in: 2022

Jamie Dietze was born in San Luis Obispo, California, and raised in Silverado Canyon, California. She returned to San Luis Obispo to raise two sons and a stepdaughter. Always passionate about art, Dietze obtained her BFA in Art and Design with a Studio Concentration from California State Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo in 2014. www.jamiedietze.com

Dietze’s other life-long passion has been to serve, and she has volunteered at and worked for many SLO County non-profits including ARTS Obispo, Family Care Network, Inc., The Nature Conservancy, Cancer Support Community of the Central Coast, Wilshire Community Services, Cal Poly Cat Program, and Woods Humane Society. She is currently the owner of Black Rabbit Studio SLO and provides art instruction to both individuals and groups and has taught group art lessons to youth of all ages at Paso Robles Youth Arts Center, in Paso Robles, California.
